LOCAL SPORTS IN BRIEF Kilgore vs. Jacksonville tonight The Kilgore High School basketball teams will face Jacksonville tonight - the Lady Bulldogs will be at home, a 6:30 p.m. varsity-only tipoff, and the Bulldogs will be on the road, beginning at 5 p.m. with freshmen. Kilgore's Lady Bulldogs are 13-8 overall this season, 9-2 in District 12-4A and are coming off arguably their biggest win of the year. Kilgore's girls beat Nacogdoches at Nac on Friday night to force a first-place tie between the two teams in the district standings with three regular-season games remaining. The Bulldogs aren't really in playoff contention. They're 6- 16 overall, 2-7 in district play, and are finishing off the season. But coach Jimmy Williams' team wants to finish strong, and Jacksonville is a solid playoff contender - beating the Indians tonight on their home court would be a big win for a young KHS team. Both KHS teams play again on Friday, and both face Pine Tree. Once again on Friday, it'll be coach Davia Garrett's Lady Bulldogs at home, the boys on the road. SOCCER No KHS soccer tonight The Kilgore High School soccer teams both have byes tonight, and will be back in action Friday against Pine Tree.
