Avant receives Main Street facade grant
By KATHRYN MARTINEZ news1@kilgorenewsherald.com

BOB AVANT
Another Main Street façade grant application was approved last night, after consideration by Main Street Design Committee.

Bob Avant, owner of 316 North Main, presented a Main Street rendering and his design ideas to the board.

The address under design is the former location of B&W Frame, across Main Street from Citizens Bank.

Avant has said when restora- tion is complete the vacant building will be the jewel of downtown Kilgore.

Avant's plans include reattachment of black marble to exterior walls; painting the building tan with cream trim; and adding a black roof cap.

Avant also intends to replace windows with custom metal windows that replicate the existing windows.

Avant scored a perfect 100 on his application and was approved to receive half of project costs, or $5,335, once renovations are complete.
