Commissioners to meet Monday

Gregg County Commissioners meet Monday to discuss a long agenda of routine county affairs.

Gregg County Judge, Bill Stoudt, requests the re-appointment of Linda Thomas and Dave Spurrier, county representatives, to North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority (NET RMA) for two-year terms, beginning Feb.1

Gregg County Sheriff Maxey Cerliano, requests approval for purchase of a fleet vehicle, to replace a wrecked vehicle, with funds from an insurance settlement.

Commissioners are expected to approve a resolution authorizing the county judge to direct the sheriff in offering surplus properties at public auction.

Commissioners may also approve a resolution authorizing execution of a deed or other necessary documents to convey properties to Kenneth and Jessie Cook; and to J P Morgan Chase Bank.

Commissioners are asked to approve payment of county membership dues to Sabine- Neches Resource Conservation and Development Area, Inc., in the amount of $100.

In other commissioners business Precinct 3 Commissioner, Bob Barbee, requests approval for county assistance with street repairs in Gladewater and to White Oak for "boom axing" - trimming roadside tree limbs - along several city streets.

County Auditor requests renewal of Professional Liability Insurance for nine county Judges and necessary action regarding quarterly reduction of General Fund allocations held in reserve in the Road and Bridge Fund Balance for the first quarter of 2007-2008 fiscal year.

East Texas Regional Airport requests approval to amend a contract with Longview Bridge and Road Runway Safety Area, at the Airport.

Election officials request approval to place early voting stations at Broughton Recreation Center and for the approval of the early voting schedule for the March 4 primary.

Gregg County Health Department requests an agreement between the county and East Texas Council of Governments for a litter abatement grant for the litter abatement officer, another contract between the two entities for litter and illegal dump clean up and a contract from National Association of County and Health Officials for $5,000 in grants to meet local needs with Gregg County Medical Reserve Corps.

Commissioners are slated for an executive session to discuss Jaimes v. Gregg, et al and Page v. Gregg, et al.

Gregg County Commissioners meet 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30 in Commissioners Courtroom on the third floor of Gregg County Courthouse.
