CHITCHAT CORNER
We understand a "treat" basket was sent by Beulah, the dog, to Dr. Terry Ray (Kilgore Small Animal Hospital) last week. The basket was sent with a letter of apology for "misbehaving" in his office. A fish fry is being held for Rusk County Sheriff Candidate at the Clements Ranch on Saturday, January 26. He has been to the "barn" before, but his wife admitted to have never been there. Upon attempting to describe the barn to her and told of the stage and sound equipment found there, she remarked, "Oh, maybe he can do a little soft shoe." Now, we just have to find out if he did… In the long run our kids do us right. Just look at this batch that will be participating in the TMEA Region IV Honor Choir Clinic/Concert on Saturday, January 26. Middle School students attending are Stephanie Jones, Grace Whitfield, Monica Mojarro, Crystal Pate and Hunter Bourque under the direction of Ms. Eva Williams. High School students participating include Tyeisha Crook, Courtney Dorsey, Maegan Ebarb, Allison Whisenhunt, Jasmine Williams, Courtney Harris, Wyndham Jones, Calvin Lacy, Larry Zachery, Breon Ector and Cody Gunby. "The most interesting thing about this concert is the students having to learn to sing in Latin, German and Hebrew," said Ms.Patty McKinney, KHS Choir Director. (We wish them all the best.) Ronnie Spradlin sends in the following - "Latane (Speer) must really inspire her cheerleaders, of all of the dozen plus teams that competed in the cheer competition last weekend, most if not all of them are her old KC Cheerleaders. What a testimony to her and KC that her cheerleaders are talented enough to teach cheering well into their 30's and early 40's." (Of course we don't know what Ronnie was thinking, we all know Latane is not old enough to have students in their 40's. Hats off to you Latane and your former students.) May His Love and Laughter Fill Your Hearts and Your Homes Throughout the Week. In the meantime, we may be reached at 903-984- 2593 or by e-mail at chitchatlinda@aol.com |
