The Kilgore College Department of Music and Dance presented its Music Faculty In Recital Thursday night at the Van Cliburn Auditorium.

The program started off with a piano duet titled, Wizard of Oz Fantasy, performed by Sandra Siler and Cathy Waggoner.

Diana Hector-Norwood then performed the Concerto No. 2 in D minor, Mvt. 2 Romance, accompanied by Ryan Kelly on piano.

The marimba was then rolled out on stage for a performance of Memories of the Seashore by Kevin Ogilvie.

If you have never heard a flute in concert then you missed a treat when Jessica Ogilvie performed a Sonata for Flute and Piano, Mvt. 2 Allegretto, accompanied by Jerry Hale on piano.

The concert was certainly not without vocal music. Jeanne Johnson, chair of the music department and voice instructor performed American Anthem, a tribute to those who served in WWII, accompanied by Jimmy Culp on piano.

Opera was by no means left out as Melanie Sullivan, soprano, performed Vedi quanto adoro, accompanied by Judy Owens on piano.

Jazz took the stage next as Kevin Kelley played two string bass instruments, performing Blue Bossa and All Blues, accompanied by Jerry Hale on piano.

The program ended in a duet as Jeanne Johnson and Melanie Sullivan teamed up to perform "For Good" from The Wicked, accompanied by Jimmy Culp on piano.

Johnson said the faculty went beyond the call of duty, despite being engulfed in a busy semester, taking time out to perform for the community in this free concert.
