BELIEVE IT OR NOT, SOFTBALL TIME
The Girls of Summer were out in force Monday and Tuesday when the Kilgore High School Lady Bulldog softball team held tryouts. Head Coach Cassie Newell said 39 girls tried out for varsity and junior varsity.The final cut should bring the teams down to approximately 29 players. Hitting, fielding and running were all a part of the tryout, despite the temperature and inclement weather conditions. The Lady Bulldogs will hold their first scrimmage against Mineola at Harris St. Park on Jan. 29 with JV at 4:30 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m. The home opener is Feb. 11 against White Oak and district play starts March 4 against Henderson.
