FRANK O. BARR

Services for Mr. Frank O. Barr, 87, of Kilgore will be held Friday, January 2, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Reverend Earl "Buddy" Duggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral Thursday 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Barr was born August 5, 1921, in Zwollie, Louisiana, and passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2008, in Nacogdoches. Mr. Barr was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Air Force. He moved to Kilgore in 1946 and in 1948 he started Frank Barr Tank Company. In later years he was in Real Estate and a Building Contractor, building many homes in Kilgore. Mr. Barr was a member of Forest Home Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Frank Barr, Jr. and LeAnn of Garrison; grandson, Travis Barr of Garrison; stepson, Monroe Menke of Frankston; stepdaughter, Susan Menke of Houston; stepgrandchildren, Charlotte Van Vleet, Heather O'Neill and Korey Kent; two great-grandchildren, Conner and Grace O'Neill.

He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Barr and parents William and Emma Bell Barr.
