Cowboys lose, but other things work out . Now if they beat Philly, they're in
      IRVING (AP) — Cowboys coach Wade Phillips doesn't gamble and doesn't make predictions. He does, however, make observations based on 31 years of working in the NFL. So as gloomy as things looked for his club's playoff chances after losing to Baltimore on Saturday night, Phillips remained relatively cheery before Sunday's games began.

      SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Poinsettia Bowl, the little brother of the Holiday Bowl, sure grew up fast. The No. 9 and undefeated Boise State Broncos and No. 11 TCU Horned Frogs meet tonight in the Poinsettia Bowl, which despite its lower-tier status has put together a marquee matchup that's going to be overshadowed by only a few games this postseason.

Sabine wins LMS tourney
HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL
      The Sabine High School boys basketball program hosted, along with West Rusk High School, the Last Man Standing tournament over the weekend, and as it turned out, Sabine was indeed the last man standing. The Cardinals, ranked fifth in the state at the Class 2A level in the last Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) poll, defeated archrival White Oak, 48-24.
