Council looks again at property sale Kilgore City Council will once again consider the subject of whether to sell sheriff sale property located at 1116 through 1208 S. Commerce to either Kilgore College or to Chris Dunsworth, of C&J Estate Management, LLC, for $12,500. The council tabled this decision at the last regularly scheduled meeting. Dunsworth has said he wants to build duplex apartments. Kilgore College wants to hold on to the property for an entrance site, in the event an athletic fields are built on the adjoining acreage owned by the college. The city controls property seized for back taxes even though unpaid taxes are owed to Kilgore school district, the county and to Kilgore College. Councilmen are also slated to: — Review and adopt the Kilgore Police Department Manual of General Orders which, according to Roman Roberson, CID Lt. detective, acts as a operations and procedure manual for the department; — Consider discussion and receive guidance on the Crescent Drive drainage project, which is slated to keep Crescent Drive and Houston Street from flooding; — Consider and likely approve a proposal in the amount of $124,795 from BLOC Design Build for necessary equipment, materials and labor for remote monitoring and control of water and sewer department lift stations; — Consider the adoption of Ordinance 1412 governing traffic, parking and picking up or discharging passengers around Chandler Elementary School; — Consider an amended facility lease agreement between Gregg County and the city for the Community Building at Martin Luther King Park. Jeff Howell, city manager, will present a review of the Martin Luther King Park improvements budget and ask for authorization to proceed. In other business, the council will present service pins to city employees celebrating anniversaries. The city council meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Kilgore City Hall in Council Chambers.
