CLAUDIUS BRITTAIN

Graveside services for Claudius Brittain, 82, of Kilgore, were Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with the Rev. Cleran Gipson officiating. Services are under the direction of Cunningham Funeral Home.

He was was born Nov. 17, 1926, to William and Adelaide Thomas Brittain in Kilgore. He attended North Chapel Public Schools and was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church.

He died Dec. 12 at Good Shepherd Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Brittain; one step-son, Charles Mc Cloud; one daughter, Lillian Brittain.

He is survived by: four sons, Michael Brittain of Fort Worth, William Brittain of Plano, Claudius Brittain Jr. of Aurora, Colo., and Maurice Loyd of Kilgore; five daughters, Maricia Pinke of Tyler, Ada Brittain, Tanja Brittain, Carolyn Jones, all of Kilgore, and Dora Brittain of Longview; one sister, Alverdia Queen of Kilgore; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
