DECEMBER

*Holiday Trail of Lights, Thanksgiving weekend through New Year's Day, offers millions of lights and live entertainment. View more than 70 star-topped, lighted derricks, Christmas musicals and parades. Two states and six cities — Kilgore, Marshall and Jefferson, and Natchitoches, Shreveport and Bossier City, are all linked by interstate highways to form the Holiday Trail of Lights. *12th Annual Christmas In the Park at Liberty City, beginning Thanksgiving night through Dec. 31. Drive through to view 100,000 lights, animated decorations, nativity scene, each night. Hugh Camp Memorial County Park, Old Hwy. 135. Free. Gates close at 10.

TUESDAY

*78th Annual Kilgore Nighttime Christmas Parade 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2. Parade winds through the streets of downtown. Entry fee of $25 required to participate in the parade. Call the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce at 903-984-5022 or e-mail a request for an entry form to bgarrett@kilgorechamber.co m.

*Open House at Kilgore's Historic Public Library, 6-8 p.m. Dec. 9. The kids can have photos made with Santa Claus. Enjoy holiday food and music in this beautiful , French Provincial structure, built in 1939. Located at 301 N. Henderson Blvd. Free.

THURSDAY

*Forest Home Baptist Church "Christmas in the Woods," a drive-thru nativity tour 6-9 p.m. Dec. 11. Scenes begin with secular Christmas and progress to Biblical times. Free hot chocolate and candy canes are served. Forest Home is located at 15746 CR 173 North (Danville Road), between FM 2204 (Stone Road) and FM 1249 (Dudley Road).

FRIDAY

*Mt. Kilgore Snowhill Experience — The Snowhill will open from 6 to 10 p.m. Dec. 12. Other children's activities include bouncy rides, costumed characters with photo opportunity, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, cotton candy, popcorn and hot chocolate. All events are free. *Santa will be in his house at Christmas in the Park at Liberty City 6-8 p.m. Dec. 5 and Dec. 12. Free hot chocolate and cookies served. Hugh Camp Memorial County Park in Liberty City.

SATURDAY

*Kilgore Historical Preservation Foundation's 13th annual "Holiday Happenings in Historic Homes Tour" 2- 6 p.m. Dec. 6. Tour features three residences and the city's historical public library dressed to the hilt in holiday finery. Tickets, $10 each, are available on the tour at each of the three homes but not at the library. Proceeds benefit the KHPF Meadowbrook Historical Neighborhood Designation. Homes on this season's tour are: Stroope- Thrower Home, 1000 E. Houston; Walkup-Simpson Home, 2036 Broadway; Mc- Cartney-Crews Home, 2201 Broadway; Kilgore Public Library, 301 N. Henderson Blvd.

*Mt. Kilgore Snowhill Experience — The Snowhill will open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 13; train rides and wagon rides, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other children's activities include bouncy rides, costumed characters with photo opportunity, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, cotton candy, popcorn and hot chocolate.
