FRED FORTH
Freddie (Fred) R. Forth, of Kilgore left this earthy life on November 27, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer to be with our Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 1, 2008 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Reverend David Hampton officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Cemetery.
Fred was born January 6, 1932 in Orchardville, Illinois to the late William and Nellie Forth. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Hill in 1951, they moved to Texas with his father in-law's oilfield servicing business, the late O. J. Hill. He worked his entire adult life in the oilfield business and eventually started D & F Tank Trucks until he retired in 1997.
Mr. Forth was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather. His family was the most important part of his life. He was loved by all who met him and a dear friend to many. He enjoyed hunting and playing golf until his health declined.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Forth of Kilgore; daughter and sonin law Susan and Tommy Hooten of Kilgore, son and daughter-in-law Greg and Joy Forth of Henderson; daughter-in-law Theda Forth of Kilgore; grandchildren Cindy Cline of Kilgore, Jason and Rachel Hooten of Kilgore, Josh and Niccole Forth of Kilgore, Heather and Burton Lilley of Kilgore, Monica Cook and Amanda, Tommy Jack and Lisa Hooten of Henderson, Michelle Huffman, April James and husband Steve Martin and Keita Cravey and husband Jason Cravey; great-grandchildren Faizon Forth, Caleb, Adam and Nathan Hooten, Hailey Lilley, Dillon Ostrander Ashley Brady, Mandy James, Michael James, Brystol Martin and Cason Cravey.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son David Forth of Kilgore.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home on Sunday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
