York, Citizens Bank president and CEO of Citizens Bank, presents a plaque to Cheryl Pearson, the Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2008. Cheryl Pearson, trust assistant for Citizens Bank of Kilgore, has been named "Employee of the Quarter" for the fourth quarter, according to Sammy D. York, bank president and CEO.

Pearson has been employed by Citizens Bank for more than 10 years. During her time at the local financial institution, she has worked in bookkeeping, trust operations and internal accounting. Currently, she is the trust assistant.

She has 27 years of banking experience. Before coming to Citizens Bank, she worked for Kilgore First National Bank from 1981 to 1997, where she worked as a teller, in customer service, in bookkeeping, in internal accounting and in accounts payables.

Pearson attends First Baptist Church of Liberty City. She enjoys spending time with her family, fellowship with the ladies in her Sunday School Class and visiting lifelong girlfriends, Kim Meador Bassett and Teresa Kent Cox. She also enjoys reading and shopping for her grandchildren.

She also loves spending time with her parents, Paul and Judy Phillips. Her children are Jessica Martindale, who is married to Tim and they are the parents of Colton, and Amye Tubb, who is married to Josh and who are the parents of Jace and Cheyenne.

"I am thankful to have been blessed in many ways, including a workplace where I am appreciated," she said. "My co-workers are kind and supportive, not only at work but also when personal trials occur. There are many hard-working individuals at Citzens Bank who are worthy of this honor, and I am grateful to have been selected."

Citizens Bank employees say Pearson is happy, willing to go the extra mile to help others and is one of the most dedicated employees. York said the bank is lucky to have an employee like Pearson.
