Rangers win third straight; conference play Saturday

      The Kilgore College basketball programs open Region XIV Conference play tomorrow at home, and probably couldn't ask to be playing any better. Coach Brian Hoberecht's Rangers won their third straight game on Thursday night, beating visiting Southwest Christian College (of Terrell), 84-77.

      LUBBOCK (AP) — Texas Tech has never beaten Oklahoma on the road under Mike Leach. Another week, another neverbefore to conquer for the nation's No. 2 team. And in a season flush with firsts for the Red Raiders, a win in Norman against No. 5 Oklahoma on Saturday would give Texas Tech its only Big 12 South title and move it closer to playing for an national title.
