Liberty City plans parade Dec. 7 "The Wonder of Christmas Morning" is the theme of the the 21st annual Liberty City Christmas Parade, set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7. Sponsored by the Liberty City Chamber of Commerce, entry is free and certificates will be awarded for the Best Decorated, Best Parade Theme, Best Marching Band, Best Vehicle, Best Religious Theme and the coveted Grand Marshal's Award for overall best entry. Dr. Arthur Morchat, parade chairman, invites bands, marching groups, floats, singing groups, churches, civic clubs and drivers of pickup trucks and antique and classic cars to join the line-up. "We also look forward to hosting the Kilgore Rangerettes and KC Ranger Band for the parade," Morchat said. "We expect a great crowd and great weather so we invite everyone to come out for an afternoon of fun." He noted Santa Claus has agreed to join the parade but the jolly old elf requests there be no look-alike entries. "You don't want to make Santa mad, now do you?" Morchat laughed. For more information about entering the parade, contact Morchat at 903-983-1919. In case of rain, the parade will be held on Dec. 14.
