Kilgore hosts Downtown Business and Loft Tour
A little touch of Christmas waits for visitors to the 2nd Annual Downtown Business and Loft Tour. Fallon Burns, Main Street manager, said she expects approximately 500 visitors to come to star-lit downtown Kilgore. The night is slated to include street musicians and transportation to and from each location on the tour. Provence —103 N. Kilgore St. Make yourselves at home at Provence, where Justin DuPont, proprietor, promises a little of "everything but traditional," beginning with sweet baby blue Christmas ornaments. Provence could be best described at charming and quaint with a comfortable mix of everything that is "just Justin." DuPont welcomes everyone to feel at home and bring in the holiday season at Provence. Two- 0 -Fi N. Kilgore St. The Shop at Two-0-Five is decorated to the nines — again — and owner Harry Crouse has put much thought into his second appearance on the tour. At Two-0-Five, guests, tourists and patrons are invited to enjoy a variety of finger foods, which include: sausage balls, cheese biscuits, cheese balls and Jalepeño fudge, which Crouse describes as a quiche. Decorations traverse time from traditional to new and trendy. Beads, ornaments and Christmas are placed all about the galleries and something special waits for each and every one the tour. Other businesses: Barton & Beane, at 101 N. Kilgore St.; Expressions, at 104 N. Kilgore St.; and, The Greenery Floral Creations, at 212 E. Main St. Denise Dunwoody Loft — 116 S. Kilgore Denise Dunwoody welcomes guests to a "winter wonderland," complete with festive decorations and a candle-lit staircase. This is Dunwoody's first appearance on the tour and she has high hopes for a big turnout and plans to serve guests to her loft cold beer and hot buttered popcorn. Bill Woodall and Jessica Matlock — 206 Commerce St. 'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the loft of Bill Woodall and Jessica Matlock, guests are invited to wait for Santa and his reindeer while enjoying fresh milk and cookies. They have spent the last year renovating their loft and have now decorated the space with Santa theme. Other lofts: Mitch and Janet Mitchell, at 205-B N. KIlgore St.; and, the Crouse Lofts on Main, 104 N. Kilgore St. The Downtown business and Loft tour is 5 p.m. until everyone has had their fill of festivities and cheer, Saturday, Nov. 29.
