Right photo by Bryan Boyd; centerphoto by Dr. Jeff Davis; bottom photo courtesy of Jonathan Baker It's playoff weekend No. 2 — but for Leverett's Chapel, it's the first playoff game. The Lions (including Tony Chavez, right, 24) will travel to Rio Vista Friday night to take on Star in a six-man football playoff, a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. And the West Rusk High School Raiders (pictured in the bottom photo coming onto the field against Hearne) take on Daingerfield in the second round of the Class 2A Division 2 playoffs. That game will be played Friday night, also at 7:30 p.m., at Gladewater's Jack Murphy Stadium. Read previews of all these games in today's special section, Game Time Weekly. More ...
