KHS boosters taking bus to Mesquite

The Kilgore Bulldogs (9-2) will travel to Mesquite on Friday to face Ennis (10-1) in the area round of the UIL Class 4A Division 2 playoffs at Mesquite Memorial Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7:30

The KHS football booster club is taking a bus to the game. If you'd like to go, tickets are $20 and are on sale at the KHS athletic offices. The bus will load at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the KHS student parking lot, and will leave at 4:45.

Other playoff games this weekend involving teams in the Kilgore News Herald's coverage area have West Rusk (9-2) taking on Daingerfield (10-1) at Gladewater on Friday night at 7:30, and Leverett's Chapel (7-2) begins its run in the sixman football playoffs, facing Starr at Rio Vista on Friday. That game also kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

See previews of all three in Game Time Weekly, a part of the Kilgore News Herald each Thursday.

Vote Reddic for player of the week

BASKETBALL

KYBA registration Dec. 6

A second registration for the Kilgore Youth Basketball Association's upcoming season will be Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the older gymnasium on the Kilgore High School campus. This is for boys and girls first through seventh grades.

KYBA official Tim Capps said there was a good turnout for the first registration, and that the league is expecting over 300 children to participate this season.

Games are played on Saturdays at KHS, and Capps noted the enrollment has increased the last two years.

Registration is $40 for the first child, $30 for each additional child, and for more information, call Reggie Henson at (903) 983-0945, or Capps at (903) 984-3082.
