OSCAR M. CLAYTON

Oscar M. Clayton died late Tuesday morning, Nov. 11, 2008.

Mr. Clayton was born Sept. 3, 1942, in Hagensport, to the parents of John and Effie Mae Clayton. Oscar, formerly of Bay City, lived in Kilgore.

Mr. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, Effie Mae Henry and John Jepsey Clayton; one brother, W.J. Clayton; and two sisters, Etter Mae and Lillian Ruth Martin.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Clayton of Kilgore; three sons, David Clayton of Wharton, Wesley Clayton of Yorktown, Glenn Clayton of Port Lavaca; one stepson, Keith Mount of Houston; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Joy Murphree and Dorothy Wymack of Bay City; two brothers, A.G. Clayton of Conroe and James Clayton of Bay City; several nieces and nephews.

Services are under the direction of Royal Valley Funeral Home, Quitman.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Royal Valley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday Nov. 15, in the Chapel of Hope at Royal Valley Funeral Home. Mike Gribble, pastor of Kilgore Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate.

Pallbearers will include Randy Hunter, John Shedd, J.W. Thompson, Charlie Elkins, Joshua Clayton, Drew Clayton, Cody Clayton and Brandon Adams.
