'TIS THE SEASON

News Herald photos by KATHRYN PENROSE News Herald photos by KATHRYN PENROSE Shawn Spino, above, worked most of the day yesterday screwing in light bulbs. Spino was raised and lowered on a platform with the help of Kirk Jenkins. The two men work in the city building maintenance department and will have hung 24 strands of colored lights and tested in excess of 2,800 bulbs. At left, Mike Coston, Kilgore Chamber of Commerce, scaled the 35- foot towering structure at the intersection of Kilgore Street and US 259 that will soon take the shape of Kilgore's Christmas tree. Thanks to Maxey Cerliano, Gregg County Sheriff, county inmates played a key role in the erection of the tree and labeling sections for future reference.
