Emily Nicks honored by Lewisville ISD Education Foundation Award Emily Nicks honored by Lewisville ISD Education Foundation Award Emily Nicks was recently honored with a Lewisville ISD Education Foundation Award, given in recognition and appreciation of those dedocated and hard-working teachers who inspire excellence and make a difference in the lives of children.

Nicks, who now teaches English as a Second Language at Sabine ISD, received this special honor for the wonderful help and guidance she gave to one of her ESL students in 2007-08.

She is the daughter of Bill and Judy Nicks and granddaughter of Kyle and Dorothy Bates and Winnie Nicks, all of Kilgore, and the late Clyde Nicks and Tommy Osborne.

Lewisville ISD is the 17th largest school district in Texas and among the 100 largest school districts in the United States.

For the awards, a team of community volunteers read and judged all applications by "blind review" during the summer so announcements could be made at the start of the school year.
