Shooting suspect still at large

Kilgore police are searching for a suspect in connection to the Oct. 17 shooting of Brandon O' Rourke at his home on Stone Road. Investigators are "actively seeking" Damion Orlandus Taylor, 20, who lives in Tyler but is alleged to have ties to Baytown, said Lt. Roman Roberson, KPD public information officer.

The department has issued a felony warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for Taylor, who Roberson said "should be considered armed and dangerous."

Two other associates of Taylor, who have yet to be identified, may be possible witnesses to the crime. Investigators are currently following up several active leads and Roberson said they "are encouraging these two subjects to contact the Kilgore Police Department."

O' Rourke, who was shot in the back with a rifle, has been discharged from the hospital and is still recovering from his wounds, Roberson said.

Anyone with any information regarding this crime, the whereabouts of Taylor or the identity of the two unidentified subjects can call KPD at 903-983-1559 or contact Gregg County Crime Stoppers at 903-236- STOP. Crime Stoppers may pay up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person( s) responsible for this crime.
