      "John" and I were married in the fall of 1999. We met earlier that year, got engaged and I found out I was pregnant with our first child at the beginning of the summer. The abuse began shortly after our marriage. His first step in violence toward me was so unexpected and the reason so senseless.

      Lillyan "Lilly" Mulanax, daughter of Blayne and Laura Mulanax, celebrated her second birthday with a Dorathemed party on Sunday, Oct. 12, at her home in Kilgore. Lilly is the granddaughter of Ricky and Melody Mulanax of Kilgore, Janice and Gary Pirkey of Longview, and Gene and Patricia Rockett of Houston.
