Stitches from the Heart in need of volunteers

Stitches From The Heart needs volunteers to knit, crochet or quilt blankets, little sweaters and hats for babies in need. These items are donated to hospitals all over the country.

"Patterns are available and donated yarn is appreciated for our seniors," said Kathy Silverton, president and founder of the group, based in Santa Monica, Calif.

Stitches From The Heart has donated thousands and thousands of hand-made hats, booties, sweaters and blanks to more than 411 hospitals and charities around the country. Stitches is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
