Alpha Delta Kappa Chapter celebrates Founders' Day
      The Alpha Rho chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International Sorority of Women Educators' Oct. 13 meeting was held at Country Place Village. Hostesses were Glynette Ford, Sarah Garasic and Patricia Stubblefield. Pat Horton presented an informational program on some of the newest styles in jewelry from Lia Sophia.

      The District V Alpha Delta Kappa International Sorority of Women Educators Fall Meeting was held in the Heritage Room of the First United Methodist Church, Longview, Texas, on Saturday, October 4, 2008. It was hosted by the Theta chapter of Longview and the theme for the day was "Celebrate What's Right with the World".

      The Kilgore Woman's Club met on Oct. 23 at the home of Marada Early. Carolyn Kennedy assisted as hostess. President Carroll Bolton presided, calling the meeting to order and leading members in the Club Collect. Secretary Marion Dovel read the minutes of the last meeting and Treasurer Marada Early discussed club finances.

Inernationally known blues artist with East Texas roots to preform in Tyler
      Edwin Holt, internationally known blues artist, will perform with members of the East Texas Symphony at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Caldwell Auditorium in Tyler. The event marks the first traditional blues and soul pops concert ever offered by the ETSO.
