Get ready for "Shake, Rattle and Roll" Thursday night The Kilgore Historical Preservation Foundation will present "Shake, Rattle and Roll" Thursday night, Oct. 16, under the derricks on the Winter Elder Stage at the World's Richest Acre. The free concert begins at 6:30 p.m. This group of four ladies sings tunes from the 1950s and '60s. The quartet includes Leann Bemis from Longview, Tavie Spivey from Gilmer, Brenda Spencer from Henderson and Kathy Sutton from Tyler. Among the many songs in their repertoire are "All Shook Up," "Sincerely," "Bobby's Girl," "Silhouettes on the Shade" and "God Bless the USA." They have recorded "Silhou- ettes," which is being played on an oldies station in Las Vegas, where they have signed a recording contract on the Memory Lane West Recording label. The women report they hope to have a 16-song CD completed in October. Shake, Rattle and Roll interacts with audience members by coming out and singing to them, and they encourage the audience to sing along. Everyone's invited to bring a lawn chair and spend an hour going down memory lane.
