Boren receives letter of commendation

Tiffany Boren East Texas Christian School's Tiffany Boren has been named Commended Student in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program.

A letter of commendation from the school and from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation will be presented by the principal to this scholastically talented senior.

Boren, daughter of Ken and Liz Boren of Overton, placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2009 competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

"We are very proud of Tiffany," said Phil Brown, administrator of the East Texas Christian School. "We know that we continue to see great things from this awesome young lady."
