KILGORE HISTORICAL PRESERVATION FOUNDATION will present "Shake, Rattle and Roll" in a free concert from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, on the Winter Elder Stage at the World's Richest Acre Park. Bring your lawn chair and plan to spend an hour strolling down memory lane to music of the 1950s and '60s.

FIRST BAPTSIT CHURCH, YOUNG AT HEART SENIOR ADULTS monthly meeting Oct. 16 is scheduled for 11:45 the at the church fellowship hall. Scott Dickerson, Sr. Vice President of Texas Bank and Trust in Longview, will speak on "Identity Theft and Fraud". Immediately following the program, those going on the November trip to Branson will have an important informational meeting.

KILGORE COLLEGE CHOIRS will perform "A Lighthearted Look at Life" concert, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16, at Van Cliburn Auditorium in the Anne Dean Turk Fine Arts Center. The free concert will feature two of the college's ensembles, Chorale and Camerata Singers, in a performance of choral music by American composers Dominick Argento, Aaron Copland and Charles Ives, mixed with selections by Haydn, Rutter, Whitacre and others. COUNTRY PATCHES QUILT GUILD will hold its 6th annual free quilt show 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Longview Public Library, 222 W. Cotton St. Each year the guild holds two free miniquilt shows, one in the spring at the Gladewater Museum and in the fall in Longview. Come see beautiful quilts made by members. THE EAST TEXAS GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY will hold its regular monthly meeting on Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Tyler Public Library in the Taylor Auditorium. The featured speaker will be Don Raney, a sixth generation Texan.

ST. LUKE'S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH ANNUAL PUMPKIN PATCH BEGINS OCT. 3 - Weekdays 4-6 p.m.; Saturdays 10-6 and Sundays 1-6 p.m. 401 East Main Street, Kilgore.

THE MASONIC LODGE OF KILGORE will host a Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 11 from 8 a.m. to noon. You can eat it there or take it home. The lodge is located on Stone Road. This is a fundraiser for the lodge.
