      Most of you are aware of this, but there will be a lot more on your ballot at the election this Nov. 4 than the race for president. Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain are vying for voter attention in swing states; Texas isn't considered one by either campaign.

Kilgore Police report
      Kilgore police officers worked 42 calls and made three arrests on Thursday. The average time spent per call was 55 minutes. Calls included: one burglary of a building at 2417 N. Henderson Blvd.; two motor vehicle accidents with no reported injuries; two suspicious activities; and eight for animal control.
