The Boys & Girls Club is taking donations for an online auction to raise money for the club. Few donations have been made to the cause to date, but the auction does not begin until Tuesday, Oct. 14, and it runs through Oct. 31. For more information contact Michelle at 903-234- 9130.

Presently there are only four men working on the KIS campus.

This week the Parent Teacher Association, Principal Andy Adams, Assistant Principal Jennifer Dollins and Tamara Mankins, PTA president, hosted an open house for dads and their fourth and fifth grade children (Moms were not invited).

The meeting was to found D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Good Students), a group on the Kilgore Intermediate School campus. D.O.G.S. is a national group of dads of students dedicated to improving

the interaction of Dads in schools and bring Dads of students to the campus each school day.

About 200 people (dads and kids) were signed up for the program - but more than 500 showed up. By the end of the night, more than 150 dads were signed up and had chosen a day that they would like to come to school and be the Dad of the day, where they will attend class with their child, eat lunch, stay on the playground and interact with the other kids on the campus.

Kilgore Lions Club Halloween Carnival tickets are on sale at Coldwell Banker, Kilgore Chamber of Commerce and from any Lion. Prices are $1 each or six for $5.
