ACRO FLYERS RACKING UP WINS!
Autumn Schara and Keli Cole (right) of the Kilgore Acro Flyers, an acrobatic gymnastics club, won first place in the Borne State Acro Gymnastics Championship in May. The girls overcame many obstacles on the way to the championship, and they started as a trio, but when their partner was unable to continue, coach Ada Wells petitioned the state board to allow them to continue. The girls hit all the stunts in their three minute routine, and went on to the state championship in their age group. The girls hope to reach the national championships next summer. Top: the members of the Acro Flyers held their first fall showcase recently at the East Texas Church of the Way. The gymnasts go to a national invitational in Baton Rouge, La., in March. Pictured above in front are Zy Ann Robinson, Cierra Smith, Faith Rabalais, Sky Cotton, Kirsten Wheat and Emily Carter. On the second row are Mikalah Pittman, Chelsea Kennedy, Autumn Schara, Keli Cole and Kinsey Blanton, and on the back row: Ana Cvitanovic, Aimy Sander, and Natayvia Lloyd. For more information on the Acro Flyers, call Wells at (903) 261-3223.
