The East Texas Oil Museum receives visitors from all over the world. Wednesday, Jeremy Vechinski, from Milwaukee, Wis., stopped by while on a 3,900-mile motorcycle trip. Vechinski said he planned what he thought would be interesting stops along the way and he was not disappointed by the oil museum. He said he was leaving Kilgore on Wednesday, headed for Paris and Beaumont before heading back to Wisconsin. Vechinski is an avid motorcyclist touring on his 1998 BMW 1100 RT. More...

Lance Hillhouse, 55, of Kilgore passed away Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, in Tyler. He was born in Longview on Jan.11, 1953, and was the son of the late Arvy Cornelius Hillhouse and Anna Fern Ratekin. He graduated from Sabine High School in 1971 and attended Kilgore College. He worked as an EMT and dispatcher for Careflight Emergency Services in Dallas prior to moving to Kilgore. More...
