KHS freshmen, JV at Lindale tonight

The Kilgore High School freshmen and junior varsity teams will play at Lindale tonight, beginning with freshmen at 5:30 p.m. The freshmen, coached by Joey Pippen, are unbeaten

VOLLEYBALL

Kilgore hosts Lindale Friday at 4:30

The Kilgore High School volleyball team will try to get back on the winning track Friday afternoon, hosting Lindale as District 14-4A play continues. Kilgore (2-2 in district competition so far) saw a two-game district win streak end at Whitehouse on Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs' varsity will play at 4:30.

Sabine loses to New Diana; at Big Sandy Friday

The Sabine High School volleyball team dropped a fourgame match to New Diana on Tuesday night, but still have hopes of making the playoffs.

Sabine lost in four, 20-25, 14-25, 25-11, 16-25.

For the Lady Cardinals, Cortnee Ryan had 10 kills, four blocks, 10 digs and three aces. Shayla Gossett had seven kills, a dig and two assists. Alex Easley had four kills, a dig and 15 assists. Cassie Headley had 13 assists. Carra Smitherman had seven kills, three blocks, a dig and an assist. Krystal Kent had five digs and an ace. Tashae Pegues had six digs. Lindsey Bryce had nine. Kendra Whitehead had a dig and two aces, and Brittany Stuart had two kills and a block.

The loss drops Sabine to 3-5 in District 18-2A play, 15-14 overall, and the Lady Cardinals, coached by Rickey Hammontree, play at Big Sandy on Friday, a varsity-only day, with the game beginning at 4 p.m.
