KILGORE SOCCER ASSOCIATION REPORT EDITOR'S NOTE: This report is from last weekend's games of the Kilgore Soccer Association (KSA). The report comes from reports submitted by league coaches. Names are spelled here in the Kilgore News Herald exactly as they are printed. Reports with incomplete names won't appear in the paper. Games are played Saturdays at the sports complex on Highway 135. This roundup will normally run on Thursdays in the News Herald sports section. Coaches reports are due by 5 p.m. on Monday. Under-6 boys • Scorpions vs. Strykers: For the Scorpions, Jason Madden, Adrian Martinez and Preston Woodall all played well offensively, and defensively, Ryan Hamilton, Jimmy Kelly and Kaden Pruett played well. The team missed Conner Hubbard, who was sick. The Scorpions are coached by Mike Madden and Brandon Woodall, and sponsored by Stinger Wellhead. • Scorpions vs. Avengers: Ryan Hamilton, Jimmy Kelly and Adrian Martinez were offensive standouts; Jason Madden, Kaden Pruett and Preston Woodall were defensive standouts. Under-6 girls • Tinkerbells vs. Lady Chivitas: For the Tinkerbells, offensive standouts were Makayla Thompson and Callie Sparks. Defensive standouts were Chloe Staley, Hannah Roberts and Faith Rabalais. The Tinkerbells are coached by Brandon Carter. • Lil' Americas vs. Tinkerbells: For the Lil' Americas, Madie Roach, Gracie Vazquez, Dannie Fyffe, Caitlyn Bates and Madison Alford all scored.Alford had three assists, and Vazquez had one. Defensively, Gracie "Mae-Mae" Tharp and Kayla Casterline were standouts, and coach Patti Gutierrez said the girls are playing with great teamwork and learning to pass the ball well. Gutierrez is assisted by Bobby Tharp. For the Tinkerbells, Emily Carter, Callie Sparks and Faith Rabalais played well offensively, and Makayla Thompson, Chloe Staley and Hannah Rabalais were defensive standouts. Under-8 boys • Sidekicks vs. Knights: Mason Cole scored three times for the Sidekicks, and other offensive standouts were Drake Plunkett, David Chavarria and Connor Quinlan. Defensive top players were Jairo Alvarez, Jake Knight, Shawn May, Preston Vaden and Tristan Bradshaw. Jesse Gaut played goalie. The team is coached by Larry Quinlan and Dion Deshazer, and sponsored by Martin Gas. • Sidekicks vs. Dynamo: For the Sidekicks in this game, Mason Cole scored four times. Connor Quinlan had a goal, as well, and added three assists. David Chavarria had an assist, too, as did Jesse Gaut, and Drake Plunkett played well on offense. Top players defensively were Jario Alvarez, Jake Knight, Shawn May, Preston Vaden and Tristan Bradshaw. Under-10 girls • Team USA vs. Jacksonville: Myra Rodriguez scored for Team USA, and Alexis Smith and Victoria Shipman also played well, as did goalkeeper Kaitlin Word. Team USA is coached by Tanya Barnes and Tracy Moore, and sponsored by Bar M Welding. • Team USA vs. Total Chaos: Victoria Shipman scored for Team USA. Alexis Smith and Sydney Barnes were offensive standouts, and Taylor Cundieff and Kaitlin Word were top defenders. Under-12 girls • Lady Tigers vs. Tidal Wave: Taylor Black scored three times and Janie Midkiff scored once in this Lady Tigers win. Rocio Rangel and Amber Rozell were offensive standouts, and Paige Dame and Alycia Ballard were top defensive players for coaches Brad Provance and Paul Callahan. Goalies were Morgan Casterline and Sihara Requera, and the team is sponsored by Ta-Dah's. • Lady Tigers vs. Nacogdoches: Taylor Black, Amber Rozell and Hannah Larson were offensive standouts for the Lady Tigers here, and defensive standouts were Paige Dame, Allison Callahan and Gauge Lindsey.
