Mathis cited for service to Gregg County

"If you name it, I have seen it," said John Mathis, Gregg County Pct. 4 commissioner. Mathis received an award Monday for 25 years of commissioned service to Gregg County. In late 2006 Mathis was awarded for 32 years of service — which includes his years as a reserve officer — bringing him to 34 total, since 1974.
