THE KILGORE MINISTERIAL ALLIANCE will meet at The Willows of Kilgore at noon on Oct. 7. All area pastors are invited for lunch, fellowship and input on community activities involving the Ministerial Alliance.

WEDNESDAY

CIVIC GARDEN CLUB will meet at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 8, at the Ramke home in Royal Oaks. Speaker will be Carol Ramke, Master Gardener, who will present the program on "Living Green," explaining first-hand how it is possible to "go green" in heating, cooling, watering and growing gardens.

FRIDAY

HIGHLAND PARK BAPTIST CHURCH will host its annual bazaar and soup luncheon on Oct. 17 at the church's family life center, to the right of the church if you're looking at it from Highway 259. The bazaar, which will feature crafts, Christmas decor and a bake sale, will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and the soup luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., at a cost of $5 for adults, $2.50 for children under 12. THE KHS CLASS OF 1955 will will have it'ssimi annual lunchion on Oct. 3. All class members, friends and family are invited to meet at 11:30 a.m. at Tele's Restaurant in Longview, located at 3919 Gilmer Rd. For more information, call 903-988-1157.

KILGORE TOGETHER AND ST. LUKE'S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH are sponsoring a post-game movie in the park on Oct. 10. Activities will include free food and prizes. The "Fifth Quarter" activities are all in Kilgore City Park and begin after the football game.

HEARING LOSS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA, LONGVIEW CHAPTER, will meet Oct. 4, 10:30 a.m., at Wesley McCabe Methodist Church, 1115 S. Mobberly Ave. Program will be "Coping Strategies that Work for You," with facilitator Debra Myers. Live captioning and assistive devices will be available. Visitors welcome.

THE EAST TEXAS GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY will hold its regular monthly meeting on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Tyler Public Library in the Taylor Auditorium. The featured speaker will be Don Raney, a sixth generation Texan.

CATCH THE HOPE! is the theme of the 17th annual Alzheimer's Walk, set 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at LeTourneau University in Longview. Registration, free food and family entertainment begin at 5, followed by the walk and a commemorative candle lighting ceremony. LONGVIEW COMMUNITY THEATER WILL PRESENT CATFISH MOON, the next two weekends, a play about old friendships where fishing remains constant through the years. This is a great play about relationships and a great evening's entertainment.

KILGORE HISTORICAL PRESERVATION FOUNDATION will present "Shake, Rattle and Roll" in a free concert from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, on the Winter Elder Stage at the World's Richest Acre Park. Bring your lawn chair and plan to spend an hour strolling down memory lane to music of the 1950s and '60s.
