KILGOROUND

MITCH LUCAS

OK — ALL YOU Kilgore High School and West Rusk High School football fans will have to find something else to do Friday night.

Both your teams have open dates. And congratulations to both for great starts this season.

Sabine visits Winona on Friday night; Overton hosts Cayuga and Leverett's Chapel's six-man program visits Fannindel. You can read previews on those teams, and read about KHS and West Rusk, too, in Game Time Weekly in Thursday's paper.

Congratulations to the Kilgore College Rangers, who knocked off the No. 1 team in the country on Saturday. If you haven't heard, KC beat Blinn, 20- 17, in triple overtime. The Rangers got a win they needed badly, and shocked the nation — or at the very least, shook up their own conference — in the process.

KC visits Arkansas Baptist at 3 p.m. in Little Rock

on Saturday. Read about the Rangers' win over Blinn today on page 8 in sports.
