MONTERAY SWANSON
Mrs Swanson was born December 11, 1942 in Overton, Texas, and pass from this life September 20, 2008, in Longview, Texas. She lived mostly all of her life in Kilgore, Texas and worshipped the Lord at First Pentecostal Church there. When the Lord made Monteray, He broke the mold. She was passionate, strong willed and above all, she loved. Monteray was one to give her opinion to her children, and prayers to the rest. Most importantly to be known of this great woman was her unconditional affection and pride she had for her grandbabies. She leaves behind her amorously devoted husband of forty-seven years, Marvin Swanson. He reminisces of their time spent together, and tells their children, "She was at her best when I was at my worst." She is also survived by her loving mother, Opal Garcia. She also leaves behind her daughter Deborah Garcia and Scott Campbell, son Mike and Betty Swanson, daughter Marilyn and David King, son Mark and Valerie Swanson, and son Matt Swanson. Her thirteen grandbabies Jennifer, Autumn, Jarred, Sean, Anthony, Ariel, Austin, Aden, Seth, Jeremy, Tristan, London and Vince; and four great grandbabies Sadie, Tanner, Emma and Landon. Carrying on without her are her three brothers Ben Garcia, James Garcia and John Garcia, and sister Judy Wilson. Also among those, numerous nieces and nephews. Passed on before her, her father, Papa Garcia, and two sisters, Libby Gibson and Jeanie Berry. Those who knew and loved her, miss her. Momma we will miss you dearly. If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. The family will receive friends, six to eight Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
