The tournament was one of the most successful ever, organizers say. The Kilgore Chamber of Commerce sponsored its 16th annual tournament on Tuesday at Meadowbrook Country Club, and a pair of teams share the title this year.

Coastal Chemical finished first in the morning field, and Citizens Bank Oil & Gas finished first in the afternoon, a large field made up of businesses from Kilgore.

The tournament is one of the biggest fund-raisers of the year for the chamber and didn't disappoint this year, Greg Collins said. Collins said that while final proceeds are still being tallied, he thinks this might be one of the most profitable years in tournament history. He said the tournament had a record number of teams and a record number of hole sponsors.

Proceeds from the event go to help fund numerous chamber activities.

Laird Insurance finished second in the morning field to Coastal Chemical on Tuesday. Marc Pearce was closest to the hole on No. 4 under 70, and R.C. Welch closest over 70. Scott Ward took second-shot on hole No. 10, and Welch and Dennis Boyken on 16 and 17.

In the afternoon, it was Signal Well Service finishing second to Citizens. Jacob Grubbs won the under-70 on hole No. 4. J.W. Silvertooth won on over-70. Second-shot on hole 10 was Bobby Hunt; Chad Hinton and Lloyd Vandermeter won on 16 and 17.
