AVIATORS IN THE MAKING
     The Lambda Alpha Sigma aviation fraternity at LaTourneau University held its Bi-Annual Fly In at Kilgore Community Airport last Saturday. Weston Cartwright, president of the fraternity said the fly in is held each semester. "We have a cook out and invite other students to come out and look at the planes," said Cartwright. "We also give rides, some students have never been in a small aircraft before." The airfield is owned by Dana Sneed, a teacher at Maude Laird Middle School and also a pilot. Sneed lets the students use the airfield for free and he also gave rides in his plane during the fly in.

First he gets struck by lightning and now they have discovered a picture of Christ that has suddenly appeared on their fellowship hall door. "Roberta Waller cleans our church," he said.

Cooley and Waddle unite in double-ring ceremony
      Alicia Kathryn Cooley and Justin Michael Waddle were united in marriage on June 7, 2008. The wedding was held at Crosspointe Fellowship Church in Kilgore, Texas. Officiating the double-ring ceremony was Mike Waddle, father of the groom. A reception for the couple followed at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Kilgore.

      Amanda Lee Walzel and Corey Michael Farmer were united in marriage on July 19, 2008, at A&M United Methodist Church in College Station. Reverend Laurinda Kwiatkowski officiated the double ring ceremony. The Bride is the daughter of Brian and Kathy Walzel, of Edmond, OK, formerly of College Station. The groom is the son of Thomas and Renee Farmer of San Angelo, Texas.

Joy Makers collect school supplies
      The Joy Makers had their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 9 at 6 p.m. Everyone helped decorate the tables by bringing school supplies. The two boxes of supplies are being donated to the Kilgore Intermediate School thus helping students and teachers.
