Preceptor Omicron Epsilon intstall 2008-09 officers

Members of the Preceptor Omicron Epsilon chapter Beta Sigma Phi recently participated in two events.

On August 12, 2008, Marcella Harkrider hosted the last meeting of the '07-'08 club year. Mrs. Harkrider presided, calling the meeting to order and leading members in the "Opening Ritual." Secretary Jennie Daigle read the minutes of the last meeting; treasurer Yvonne Kennedy reported on club finances. Standing committees reported on their activities. Topics discussed were the '08-'09 budget, committee assignments, and guidelines for various procedures and traditions.

President Harkrider read the ritual installing the officers for the '08-'09 club year. They are: president, Annette Morgan; vice president, Debra Albertson; recording secretary, Jennie Daigle; corresponding secretary, Deana Covin; treasurer, Yvonne Kennedy; extension officer, Janis Slayter; city council representatives, Debra Albertson and Jennifer Utzman; director, Helen (Pudge) Griffin.

Those present were Marcella Harkrider, Jennie Daigle, Dimples Burns, Opal Stewart, Yvonne Kennedy, Marion Dovel, Jennifer Utzman, Debra Albertson, Janis Slayter, and guest Nancy Nell Cato.

On August 24, 2008, members met in the parlor of St. Luke's Methodist Church for their Beginning Day Tea. This is a tradition for all Beta Sigma Phi chapter. It is a celebration of the beginning of a new club year when the new president invites members for socialization and discussion of the coming events.

President Annette Morgan was hostess. Members enjoyed refreshments from a beautifully set tea table and then fellowship and fun. Vice president Debra Albertson passed out the new yearbooks and discussed meetings and socials.
