Former KHS players in college football on Saturday

Several former Kilgore High School football players are in college football programs. Here's where they'll be playing this weekend.

• DeAndre Rossum (WR), Joe Colbert (WR) and Danny Smith (LB) all play for Kilgore College (0-1), who hosts Tyler Junior College — and former KHS teammate Rick Thomas (LB) — Saturday night at 7 p.m.

• Eddie Jones (DE), Michael Huey (OL) and Britt Mitchell (OL) play for the University of Texas, which visits UTEP on Saturday, a 9:15 p.m. kickoff, and it's on TV on ESPN2 (Kilgore Cable channel 19).

• Ryan Whitmer (OL) plays for Texas A&M University, and the Aggies visit New Mexico at 4 p.m. Saturday.

• Former KHS offensive lineman Lon Roberts is now the starting center at Louisiana Tech University, and the Bulldogs visit the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday at 6 p.m., also on TV on Fox SportsSouthwest (Kilgore Cable channel 50).

• Nick Sanders (CB) and Wayne Daniels (DE), now teammates at Texas Christian University, hosts Stephen F. Austin at 6 p.m. Saturday.

• Daniel Swaim (P), Antonio Kelly (LB) and Kurt Rossum (CB) all suit up for Texas A&MCommerce, which hosts Angelo State on Saturday at 7 p.m.

• Clint Toon (QB), a former KHS and Kilgore College standout, is now in his senior year at Texas State. TSU visits Southern Methodist University on Saturday, a 7 p.m. kickoff.
