LOCAL SPORTS IN BRIEF GOLF No afternoon times remain for tournament There are still some spaces left for the annual Kilgore Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament set for Tuesday, Sept. 16, but none of them are in the afternoon, tournament officials said Wednesday. All afternoon tee times are taken for the six person scramble set at Meadowbrook Country Club. Afternoon players will tee off at 1:30 p.m. Morning tee times still remain, however, and those players will tee off at 8 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the dining room, and during the morning and afternoon rounds there will be different contests for prizes on the holes being played. The winning teams in the two flights will also receive $100 gift certificates from G&A Golf. Teams of six or individual players are still being taken for the tournament. The cost is $75 per player, and this gets a person their green fee, cart, lunch and goodie bag. For more information or to enter, call the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce at (903) 984-5022 or call (903) 988-3413.
