Sabine students awarded for kindness

Sabine Middle School teachers are on the lookout. They are searching the school halls for random acts of kindness.

Random Acts of Kindness, a program initiated through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is a way for students to earn recognition for good deeds.

Melinda Honey, FCA sponsor, said teachers who witnesses an act of kindness from one student to another will place the student's name and an account of the act in a ballot box, for a weekly drawing.

The student whose name is drawn will be rewarded, havetheir names announced and a picture placed in the school.

At the end of the school year a grand prize drawing is scheduled. One name will be pulled from those placed in the box throughout the year.

"I just hope kindness becomes contagious," Honey said.
