IVY LEE ANDERSONPHILLIPS

Funeral services for Mrs. Ivy Lee Anderson-Phillips, 85, of Longview, were, Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Jenkins Memorial C.M.E. Church in Henderson, with Dr. Valita F. Waits officiating. Interment followed at Lakewood Memorial Park in Henderson under the direction of Southern Funeral Home in Henderson. She died on Aug. 28, 2008 in Longview.

Mrs. Anderson-Phillips, formerly of Henderson, was born April 23, 1923, in Gary. She graduated from Carthage Independent Schools, and attended Butler College; Texas College; Texas Southern; and Stephen F. Austin State College.

She lived most of her life in Rusk County and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She taught and retired from Henderson Independent Schools.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Melvin and Mandy Anderson, and husband, Rev. Dr. Kermit Carl Phillips.

She is survived by two sons, K.C. Jr. (Rose) Phillips, and Milton Phillips; one daughter, Bassilinda (Bobby) Coleman; one sister, Leotha Hooper; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and friends.

Pallbearers were Scott Phillips, Michael Phillips, K.C. Phillips, Milton Phillips, Carey Brown, and Mack Lacy.
