Christian music concert to celebrate 50th Anniversary of Wesley Foundation

A Christian music concert featuring the band 33 Miles will help celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Wesley Foundation.

The concert at 7 p.m. September 14 will be in Dodson Auditorium at Kilgore College.

The concert will be presented by St. Luke's Medthodist Church with the support of Forest Home Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church and Citizen's Bank.

Tickets, on sale now, are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Groups of eight or more can get in for $8 per person.

Dudley Plaisance, director of the Wesley Foundation, said this concert is just one of many to come to bring Christian music to the community. "We hope along the way it will help fund the Wesley Foundation," said Plaisance.

The developing story of talented pop trio 33 Miles goes hand in hand with the message of its completely heart-stirring second album, One Life. Group members Jason Barton (lead vocals), Chris Lockwood (guitar/vocals) and Collin Stoddard (keys/vocals) were taking a risk, giving their dreams a shot when they released their self-titled debut less than two years ago.

Concerts at more than two hundred churches nationwide ensued, and radio spun several of the band's songs into hits. Journalists also took notice, calling these humble guys "a talented and devoted group of performers who possess some amazing gifts for music" (In- Fuze Magazine).

33Miles was a Gospel Music Association Dove Award nominee for New Artist of the Year. Now, One Life reveals the heart of a group even more intent than before on loving the church with transparency.

A signature element found throughout the music of 33Miles is the expressive worship evident on the urgent "Jesus Calling" and unforgettable "My Offering," Lockwood says.
