Rusk County Deputy makes bust of over $200,000 worth of marijuana

Rusk County Sheriff 's Department hauled more than 300 pounds of marijuana off of the streets last week during a routine traffic stop.

K-9 Deputy Jason Smith stopped a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan traveling northbound on US Highway 59 for two traffic violations.

Smith said the driver displayed signs indicative of criminal behavior and consented to the officer's request to search the vehicle.

Smith then located approximately 329.2 pounds of marijuana in the rear cargo area of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.

The marijuana has a street value of approximately $200,000.
