JO ANN ALLEN

Jo Ann Allen a resident of Wimberley Texas joined her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Seton Medical Center in Austin Texas.

Jo Ann was born July 8, 1931 in Cottonwood, New Mexico the second of seven children of Fred T. and Mary A. Province. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of twenty-six years Billy Ray Allen, two brothers Fred T. Jr. and Dennis Ray Province.

She is survived by her two sons Michael Ray Allen and his wife Glenda, of Arlington WA., Jeffrey Glenn Allen and his wife Angela of Levelland, TX. and her daughter, Lisa Ann Ancelet and husband Ronnie, of Wimberley, TX.; four grandchildren, Cory Matthews, Jan Michael Allen, Josephine Laura Allen, and Jarred Wade Ancelet; three great-grandchildren London Perry Matthews, Audrey JoAnn Ray, and Georgia Ann Ray.

Jo Ann moved to Wimberley in 2003 to be closer to her daughter Lisa after living in Hobbs NM. and Kilgore TX. She loved the Texas Hill Country and upon moving to Wimberley began working at the Brookshire Bros. deli where she made many new friends. She was an active member of the Wimberley First Baptist Church. Jo Ann also enjoyed the many good times she had with her friends in the Red Razzle Dazzle Red Hat group going to luncheons, shopping, and fun day trips. All who knew her will remember her sweet smile and positive attitude towards life.

A Celebration of Jo Ann's life will be held at the First Baptist Church in Wimberley on Tuesday August 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jo Ann Allen's honor to the American Cancer Society or the Wimberley First Baptist Church "For His Glory" fund.
