Kilgore Lions Club learn about the Salvation Army
      The Kilgore Lions Club welcomed a representative from the Salvation Army to its meeting on Thursday. Robert Winters, a 25 year employee of the Salvation Army working in Longview, said he has been assigned in Longview for three years.

Arnold talks to Rotarians about Child and Family Services programs
      Sheila Arnold with Child and Family Service Programs in Kilgore was the guest speaker for the Kilgore Rotary Club on Wednesday. Arnold has an office in the First Presbyterian Church of Kilgore. But, her church, New Beginnings in Longview, went to Latvia this summer to host a 10-day event similar to a Vacation Bible School.

Allegiance Hospital to make presentation to City Council
      Kilgore City Council is expected to hear from Allegiance Specialty Hospital at next week's city council meeting. Marc Pearce will update on council on facility operations. Allegiance is operating in the former Laird Memorial Hospital building.

Federal judge dismisses Texas wind farm lawsuit
      McALLEN (AP) - A federal judge dismissed a conservation group's lawsuit challenging two wind farm projects under construction in Kenedy County, clearing the way for their completion by year's end.
