Ginger Shorter honored at 64th annual conferance

(L to R) Dr. Judy Warren, Ginger Shorter, and Mr. Kyle Smith Last week the Texas Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (TEAFCS) held their 64th Annual Conference in Amarillo. TEAFCS is the state affiliate of National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) and serves as the professional association of county extension agents in the field of Family and Consumer Sciences.
Each year at the conference an awards banquet is held recognizing county agents and collaborators for exemplary work during the past year. - One of the awards presented each year is the "Extension Support Staff Award", and this year Mrs. Ginger Shorter, Rusk County Extension Office Support Staff, received the 2008 Extension Support Staff Award. Ginger's award application was judged by a panel on the state level and she was notified by the TEAFCS First Vice President through written correspondence of her win.
Dr. Judy Warren, Texas AgriLIFE Extension Associate Director of Human Sciences and Mr. Kyle Smith, Texas AgriLIFE Extension Associate Director of County Programs presented Ginger with her plaque during the TEAFCS Awards Banquet on Tuesday evening, July 29th, at the Ambassador Hotel in Amarillo. The following was read as she received her award: "Ginger is the heart of the Rusk County Extension Office. She is a dedicated professional with a genuine love and concern for all people which makes her a natural at her job. Without question she dedicates 110 percent to her work and the clientele we serve."
